Business Insider spoke with leaders at the fitness brands Puma, Les Mills, FitXR, and Supernatural about leveraging extended reality to provide tech-driven workouts. He recalled seeing people's perceptions of VR workouts change at a launch event for Puma and Meta Quest's partnership earlier this year. Lisa Edwards, Les Mills' digital innovation director, said the game's development required the company to adapt to connect "a global community of fitness enthusiasts." Three years ago, when Les Mills met with developers, the technology was more rudimentary; putting time and resources into extended-reality services was a risk.

The 1976 book “The Hite Report” was a bestseller from the beginning. And it made its author, Shere Hite, a deeply polarizing public figure. But cultural memory can be short, especially when it comes to pioneering feminists — even ones who have sold 50 million books. “We love Shere Hite!” Newnham recalled Johnson and her producing partner Ro Donnelly responding. Seeing Hite walk out of an interview was not uncommon, especially after the publication of “The Hite Report on Male Sexuality” in 1981, which proved even more divisive.

This article is part of "Small Business Strong," a series highlighting the resilient work of small-business leaders to overcome barriers and reach success. I expected to face a lot of challenges as a business leader, but a full-scale war wasn't one of them. Carnival — Shares gained 3.6% after being upgraded by Susquehanna to positive from neutral. The move comes a day after the stock gained 6.1% following an upgrade by Wells Fargo to equal weight from underweight. Petco — Shares of the pet health and wellness company gained 5% after CEO & Chairman Ron Coughlin disclosed a 61,000 share purchase.
The retailers, which both released their quarterly earnings on Wednesday, began investing heavily into pet health when the pandemic-fueled pet boom saw 23 million American households welcome a new animal into their homes. The boom turned the overall pet market into a $123.6 billion dollar powerhouse in 2021, and it's expected to grow. Pet health care – and the high margins that come with it – is a crucial component to that overall market. It changed its name to Petco Health and Wellness Company in 2020. Pet adoptions surged during the pandemic, triggering a surge in demand for pet goods.
